As the only primary school in Camelford, when organising classes, we have to respond to the present needs of the community. Therefore, we may organise classes differently from year to year in order to provide the best possible education for each year group as they move through the school. If a particular year group is larger than expected, we may have to make quite radical changes to our organisation – all well planned and resourced to ensure that we provide the best possible education for all the children.
Your child will go through three phases of education whilst at our school:
The Foundation Phase, provided during the Nursery and Reception Years, is when we build the firm foundations for a life as a learner .
KS1 (Years 1 and 2). Pupils start to build their own educational confidence and see themselves as young learners. Our commitment is to ensure that they have a planned curriculum provided for them that ensures their individual development. We therefore see each child as an individual within a larger group, the educational provision for which will always be the best possible that we can achieve.
These two phases are led by Mrs Barbara Capehorn.
KS2 (Years 3,4,5 & 6). Pupils are expected to take a great deal of responsibility for their personal learning, and for improving their own achievement levels.
This phase is led by Mrs Laura Crowder.
