Welcome to Port-Isaac Class!
We were cartographers for the day. We have created our own islands as part of our mythical stories. We used quills and ink to make our maps. We practised using the quill first.
Port Isaac have had a great term learning about Storms and Shipwrecks. During the first half term, the children made Titanic dioramas, visited the maritime museum and made boats, wrote stories and diary entries based on the Titanic. During the second half of term the children have learnt about Ernest Shackleton and discussed the reasons for his success in bringing home all his men alive. We had a heated debate about whether it is ever right to eat dogs (Shackelton's crew had to in the end to survive) and then the children have written their own balanced arguments which have been very topical and thought provoking.
We are really looking forward to next term.
